The Sportsman is different in that it is a 3 shot, 1 in the chamber and 2 in the mag. Parts of sames gauge are interchangeable. What originally drew me to the gun was the 26” vent rib IC barrel which I thought was interesting as most of the older shotguns I seem to find are the 30” full choke variety. While using it hunting, the handle to the bolt flew out, I found the bolt, re-inserted it, but could not rack the bolt back to load the gun. I've tried field stripping the gun, taking the barrel off, bolt out and trigger assembly off and reassembling the gun.

Dec 5, 2021 · What I was referring to was my Sportsman 48 has the same friction ring but also a couple of additional rings, one of which you can reverse depending on the load. The Model 11 schematic shows very similar rings. My 11-48 doesn't have those two additional rings, only the friction ring. The Sportsman 48 has 3 rings. It is a recoil shot gun make sure that the friction ring is not wore bad and mag tube has a light light coat of oil. Also make sure that the recoil spring is flat on each end that can make the ring go sideways and not cycle action fully. Hope this helps.
