I have nearly the same problem. No train at platform 9 3/4. The cabinet returns me as Ginny/Nevill/etc and I can't switch to many of the normal characters like Harry and Hermione. I do have a cauldron in my tent though. I can use it to change to a dark wizard, but when I leave the tent, I am changed back to Ron, Harry and Hermione.
