Legion 5 is great hardware wise but Lenovo has been known to have issues with their hinges. My Y50-70 had the hinge snap after a few weeks and they denied warranty. I had to buy accidental insurance for them to take it. Literally sat on my desk and lid gets closed after use and opened the next day. Never again.

He used epoxy, bolts, washers, and a drill to replace the cracked plastic and restore the hinge function. I contacted Lenovo who expressed no interest in repairing it. I was certainly willing to pay too. From what I read Lenovo will not even repair the hinges for laptops that are still in warranty. Lenovo consider any hinge issues not their fault regardless. I have found a couple of local shops that may be able to repair it. The hinge plate from the monitor side is ripped off. I'm guessing the glue or whatever isn't strong enough and it gets pulled right off. I've been having the same issues. Same problem as other posters. Loose hinge lifting plastic case on rear right corner of machine. Very obvious. Sent in for repair. Lenovo wants to replace everything because of unrelated non-issue.
