The tank fish are in bags yes, but the bettas cup in the cups already and if one dies the employee (at least at the location I worked at) is supposed to remove the sticker and put it on the fridge or something for management to keep and report the fish that died. The only thing petsmart does is feed and do the water changes.

I took everyone's advice and started to improve my tank. I have more plants coming in the mail and should be here on Monday. My tetras are now in a school and I have removed 1 fake plant.
